Resources for new writers and writing students
The peak body for writing and associated activities in Western Australia, writingWA provides a well-maintained website that is an excellent source of news and opportunities for local writers.
The ALAA was formed in 2003. Members include reputable Australian literary agents who are obliged to adhere to a set of principles contained in the Association’s code of conduct. The website lists members and contains tips about finding an agent to represent you.
A subscription-based site well worth it if you are an emerging writer on the look out for publishing and other opportunities. Access to a huge array of writing resources and some useful live forums lead by industry professionals.
The ASA publishes a number of articles and booklets that contain expert information for authors looking to get published and for self-publishing advice. Most are free to ASA members or are available for a nominal fee.
